Ugo Iroku, MD, is a top-rated New York City doctor specializing in gastroenterology and providing best in class care

Dr. Iroku is a gastrointestinal and liver disease expert with extensive experience diagnosing and treating diseases

involving but not limited to the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), liver, gallbladder, and

pancreas. In addition to receiving state-of-the-art outpatient care at the newly renovated East 79th street

gastroenterology office, Dr. Iroku’s patients also receive personalized inpatient hospital care at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Iroku’s research interests have included colorectal screening, preventing complications from gastrointestinal

disorders and developing novel treatment modalities for his patients. Dr. Iroku provides specialized treatment for

gastrointestinal diseases and conditions, including celiac disease, gluten intolerance/sensitivity, Crohn's disease, hiatal

hernia disease, irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea, constipation, gas and bloating, gastroesophageal reflux disease

(GERD), lactose intolerance, liver disease, difficulty swallowing, stomach and intestine ulcers, colon polyps and colon

Dr. Iroku received his medical training at Harvard Medical School. He subsequently completed his internal medicine

residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell University and his gastroenterology and liver disease fellowship

at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University. He also has a research and public health degree from Johns

Hopkins School of Public Health.

Over the course of his life, Dr Iroku has been lucky enough to have wonderful mentorships and opportunities to learn

from phenomenal educators in both medical school (Harvard) and clinical research training (Hopkins). A large deficit

in business training that needs to be addressed in preparation for the next phase of my career.

After listening to Dr Guy Kezirian speak about PHYSICIAN CEO on a podcast recently especially referring to the

quality of the involved professors, I think this is the program I have been looking for to be the leader I need to be.
