Jamie M. Monroe, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vision correction surgery--custom

cataract surgery and laser vision correction. She is the Surgical Director at the Cataract & Lasik Center of Utah

in Orem, Utah, serving patients throughout Utah and Wyoming.

Dr. Monroe received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, then completed

her Transitional Internship at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. She returned to Vanderbilt University for

her Ophthalmology Residency, where she remained as Instructor and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at

the Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Monroe completed her Glaucoma & Anterior Segment Fellowship at

the University of Utah before entering private practice.

Dr. Monroe is a member of the American-European College of Ophthalmic Surgery, American Society of

Cataract & Refractive Surgery, and American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has been awarded Sightpath’s

“Top Surgeon” Award 2009 -2014 and serves with the SightPath Strategic Advisory Group.

Dr. Monroe started Vision Utah in 2013 to offer free cataract surgery to the working uninsured throughout the

Intermountain West.
