Wolfgang Riha, MD graduated from medical school at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, in 2005. Starting

2006 he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University eye clinic of Salzburg, Austria. Since 2012

he is engaged at sehkraft Augenzentrum in Germany as a corneal and refractive surgeon.

Sehkraft and its head surgeon Matthias Maus, MD, is one of the leading private centers for refractive surgery in

Germany.

His main scientific interest over the years has been in the correction of presbyopia. Being involved in clinical

trials Dr. Riha published a significant number of papers and is lecturing frequently at international meetings like

ESCRS and ASCRS.

Dr Riha is father of a daughter and his personal interest is wide spread, mainly in different sports as well as

travelling. Having been involved in some successful sailing campaigns over the years he crowned his career

winning the world championship title in the Yngling class in 2001 in Newport, Rhode Island.

Dr Rihas’ main interest in the following years will be to improve and expand the sehkraft centers across the

German speaking countries providing excellent service for the patients using only the state of the art technology.

The cooperation with colleagues and companies to improve and develop the procedures and devices we are

using is another important part of my work that will ensure our leadership in the refractive field in the future.
