Dr. Kugler earned his undergraduate degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where he

graduated with a degree in Computer Science. After earning his MD from Case Western Reserve University

School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio he completed residency training in ophthalmology at the University of

Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha. After five years of general ophthalmology practice in Omaha, he

completed a fellowship in Refractive Surgery in Nashville, Tennessee.

Following his fellowship he returned to Omaha and started Kugler Vision, PC., a practice committed to

providing compassionate and personalized care, remaining on the forefront of science and technology, and

advancing the field of refractive surgery through clinical research. Dr. Kugler has authored several peer reviewed

journal articles and textbooks and presents at national meetings. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator

for two FDA clinical trials and a reviewer for several refractive surgery journals.

Dr. Kugler is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a graduate of the American

Academy of Ophthalmology Leadership Development Program. He is a founder and the first president of the

Refractive Surgery Alliance (www.RefractiveAlliance.com), an international group of refractive surgeons

dedicated to growing the refractive surgery industry.

Dr. Kugler enjoys sports, skiing, tennis, traveling, technology, and community engagement. He lives with his

wife Traci and their five children.
