Virginia Plitt Teti, MD, a facial plastic reconstructive surgeon proudly serves her country on active duty in the

United States Navy. Double board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic

Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Teti harmoniously combines form and function to offer her patients a natural, un-

operated surgical restoration.

An honors graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Dr. Teti deployed in support of the Iraq war onboard

amphibious war ships prior to her matriculation into medical school. Upon graduation from Eastern Virginia

Medical School, Dr. Teti matched into Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery residency at Naval Medical

Center Portsmouth, the largest Naval hospital, and competitively matched into a facial plastic reconstructive

fellowship at Stanford University.

Awarded for her exceptional surgical technique, meticulous attention to detail and compassionate patient care,

Dr. Teti provides all aspects of aesthetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery for the military population,

veterans and their families. Additionally, Dr. Teti serves as Residency Program Director of a nationally

recognized, ACGME fully accredited program at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, training the next generation

of military otolaryngologists-head and neck surgeons. Other leadership positions held by Dr. Teti include

National Surgical Quality Improvement Surgeon Champion and Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion committee.

Dedicated to the scientific advancement of medicine, Dr. Teti published several articles in premier peer-reviewed

journals and authored multiple textbook chapters, with research interests including functional nasal breathing,

rhinoplasty, cost effectiveness in facial plastic surgery and simulation training in otolaryngology training

programs. Recognized for her commitment to education and teaching, Dr. Teti was awarded the Ben Shuster

award for best research by the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.

Virginia Teti boastfully enjoys spending time with her family: her loving husband, four wonderful children and

parents. Dr Teti’s personal interests include piano, Bible study, lacrosse and home remodeling projects.
