Krishna Surapaneni, MD (affectionately called Dr. “Sura” by his patients) is a highly -skilled, fellowship-trained

cataract, refractive, cornea, and glaucoma surgeon. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at Wake

Forest University where he served as Chief Resident and subsequently completed an anterior segment fellowship

training at Vold Vision, one of the country’s busiest and most innovative programs. He is currently pursuing an

additional RSA-sponsored refractive fellowship, training with Matthew Hammond, MD, to further refine his

skillset. Dr. Surapaneni is widely published in the field and has been involved in the development of multiple

surgical devices.

Dr. Surapaneni is currently a board member of a non-profit whose focus is to improve patient education of eye

diseases. He has a strong passion for international health and previously established an HIV clinic in rural Kenya

and more recently went on a medical mission trip in Honduras where he conducted cataract surgery and corneal

transplants.

Dr. Surapaneni is notably the first ophthalmologist in the United States to have the SMILE procedure and

enjoys his glasses-free 20/10 vision. Dr. Surapaneni is currently in the process of starting SuraVision, a modern

vision correction center scheduled to open in 2022 in Houston, Texas.
